Legislature passes budget, averts shutdown
The Arizona State Legislature passed a budget for fiscal year 2009 on Thursday, June 26. The budget bills have been sent to the governor for her signature, veto, or line-item veto. The governor is expected to sign the bills. (Update: the governor signed the bill on Friday, June 27.) Passage of these bills will prevent a government shutdown.
